How did you find
Springs Salsa & Dance Fitness?
I first met Dorie and Mark at a Brazilian party.
It was a great day of fun food and music then Dorie presented
a live Zumbaź class for everyone. I thought the music was so hot and I loved
the way that she could move. I was super intrigued with it all
and shortly after I began classes. I love the Zumbaź
fitness program!! It is now my
passion and Springs Salsa is the best studio to be at!
Why do you like the
studio?
I just love everything about the studio!! Dorie
and Mark work very hard at making it a fun environment to be
in. I think students and instructors alike always feel welcome
and have tons of fun. The energy is so intense, I just love how
the minute I step onto the dance floor I want to shake my
booty! It truly is exercise in disguise! The studio is a hot
place to be and every time I go I am inspired to help people
reach there fitness goals. At Springs Salsa it can be done!!
What's
your story?
I have lived in Colorado Springs for about 22
years so I am pretty much a native. Growing up me and my
friends would always dance! I was also really into fitness
because my dad was really into it. He started showing me how to
lift waits and do crunches when I was about 8 or 9. I also
really got into Aerobics, especially in college. I loved moving
with music, it always felt so good. When I started dating my
husband we took Latin dance classes. I learned some salsa,
merengue, samba, rumba and a little bit of ballroom. I was
really hooked!! When I found the Zumbaź fitness program I literally thought I found
the jack pot!! Latin dance fitness! I knew right away that it
was what I had been looking for :) I never even dreamed that I
would become an instructor and now that I am it has become such
an amazing blessing in my life. I love that students can just
come and dance and sweat out all the stress!!
About You...
My mother is Brazilian while my father is from
California. I grew up listening to samba and it always became
such a comforting thing for me. I would come home from school
and my mom would be in the kitchen cooking up feijoada
(traditional dish) with her music playing, she still does to
this day! Samba and dancing is definitely in my blood!! I love
the way the music can transport me right back to Brasil!! I
have such a passion for the country and I think that is why I
really love all types of latin music, it is all just so
beautiful. I have been married to an amazing man for 7 years
and we have future plans to do more dancing together. I love to
speak Portuguese, I love the mountains and I love foreign film!
