Ana's Story
I have been on a mental weight loss journey for the last
fifteen years! That is, I knew I needed to lose weight for
health purposes, to improve self-esteem and to just look better
in my clothes, but somehow these reasons didn’t prove to be more
powerful than cheese enchiladas. Common were memberships to gyms
I attended only a few times, and copies of various fad diets
filled my files. My journey had yielded only frustration,
helplessness and anger. Finally, in May of this year (2008) a
friend invited me to try Springs Salsa & Dance Fitness. I was
lured with the promise of dinner and a beer after a workout. I
honestly thought, “How much of a workout can a dance class be?”
Well, here I
am three months later completely addicted and committed to the
dance workouts. I look forward to class everyday and feel a
great loss when I have to miss a day at the studio. What has
made the difference in my dedication to exercise? It is truly a
combination of factors. The noncompetitive atmosphere is
comforting, the amazing instructors are supportive and helpful
and dancing is so much fun that it doesn’t feel like a dreadful,
traditional workout. A combination of Zumba and healthy eating
has yielded a weight loss of 30lbs. and four dress sizes in
three (3) months! I am fifteen lbs. away from my goal weight and
have never felt better. I am the thinnest I have been in years!!
I am truly thankful that I have found an exercise that has
worked for me. |
